The first day of your Agadir to Marrakech Essaouira tour, anywhere in Agadir, including your hotel or riad, we will pick you up. The path ascends deep into the Anti-Atlas region, passing through Taroudant, also known as “Little Marrakech,” and ultimately arrives at Aït Benhaddou, a fortified ksar consisting of red mud-brick structures that have been utilized in a multitude of major film productions. Continue your stay in Ouarzazate.

The road that heads east goes through the Valley of Roses and the folded rock formations of the Dades Valley, and then it enters the Todra Gorge, which is a limestone canyon that is 300 meters high. Arrival in Merzouga in the late afternoon, followed by a camel trek of approximately 45–90 minutes into the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset, followed by a Berber dinner, live music, and a night spent under the stars.

Sunrise across the sand dunes, followed by a camel ride back to Merzouga, and then a halt at Rissani, which was historically an important crossing point for caravans traveling across the Sahara. The road then goes in a westerly direction, following the Dades/Ouarzazate corridor once more, and it makes a halt for the night on its way to the High Atlas.

On the fourth day, your 8 day Morocco desert tour takes the Tizi n’Tichka pass, which is Morocco’s highest mountain route that is open all year round, traverses the High Atlas Mountains, and is followed by a breathtaking descent into Marrakech. The evening will be free for you to explore Jemaa el-Fnaa and the souks that are located in the surrounding area.

While in Marrakech, you can explore the medina, Koutoubia Mosque, souks, and gardens at your own pace. Upon receiving your request, your driver-guide will be prepared to conduct either a half-day or full-day tour of the city.

Essaouira is a fortified Atlantic port city that is famed for its ramparts that date back to the 18th century, thriving fishing harbor, and windswept blue-and-white medina. It is accessible by a picturesque route that travels west through argan tree plantations. Be on the lookout for the goats that are famous for climbing them.

On the last day of your Agadir to Marrakech Essaouira tour and before making the final drive back down the coast to Agadir, you will have the remainder of the morning to explore the medina and harbor of Essaouira. Instead, a return transfer to Marrakech for an onward flight can be arranged for you, but the cost will depend on the booking that you have made.

Does this tour end in Agadir or Marrakech?

After Essaouira, the normal route circled back to Agadir; however, if a drop-off in Marrakech only is more convenient for your subsequent flight, it is possible to arrange for there instead; when you book, be sure to specify where you would like to terminate your trip.

Is this a private tour or a shared group tour?

As opposed to hopping between different group excursions for each location, this tour is a private one, which means that you will be accompanied by the same vehicle and driver-guide during the whole eight-day journey, which will take you through the desert, Marrakech, and Essaouira.

How much free time do I get in Marrakech and Essaouira?

It is planned that you will have two full days to explore Marrakech and around one and a half days to visit Essaouira. This will provide you with unstructured time to explore freely, and your guide will be available to provide optional city excursions if you would prefer to have one.

Is 8 days enough to see the desert, Marrakech and the coast properly?

Yes, however it is a complete itinerary rather than a leisurely one; the desert crossing takes place over the course of three days (including the night spent in Erg Chebbi), Marrakech is covered over the course of two to three days, and Essaouira is covered over the course of around one and a half days, with driving days added in between.

Do I need camel-riding experience for the Merzouga desert camp?

That experience is not required. The camel trek into Erg Chebbi is a guided and timed experience that is suitable for novices. Travelers of any age or fitness level are able to feel comfortable participating in this trip.

Can I cancel or reschedule?
