Day 1: Casablanca Arrival → Hassan II Mosque → Imperial Fes
+

Your 5 day Morocco tour kicks off with a personal pickup directly from Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) or your hotel in Casablanca. Before departing the coastal metropolis, we stop to marvel at the magnificent Hassan II Mosque one of the largest operating mosques on earth, boasting a 210-meter minaret towering over the Atlantic ocean coastline.

Leaving Casablanca behind, we journey northeast across the fertile Saiss agricultural plains toward Fes. Arriving by late afternoon, check into your authentic traditional riad in the heart of the ancient medina. Rest up and prepare for an immersive exploration of the cultural capital on Day 2 of your 5 day itinerary Morocco.

Overnight: Traditional Riad in Fes Medina | Meals Included: Welcome Tea

Day 2: Full Day Fes Medina Guided Tour & Meknes Imperial Highlights
+

The second day of this Morocco 5 day itinerary is dedicated entirely to the spiritual and intellectual heart of the nation: Fes el Bali. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to over 9,000 alleyways, navigating with an expert local guide ensures you unlock its deep history without getting lost.

Key stops include the 9th-century University of Al-Qarawiyyin (founded by Fatima al-Fihri), the intricately carved Bou Inania Madrasa, the iconic golden gates of the Royal Palace, and the vibrant Chouara Tanneries, where artisan leather crafters employ centuries-old natural dyeing techniques.

In the afternoon, we take a short scenic drive to the neighboring imperial city of Meknes. Marvel at the grand Bab Mansour gate, the royal granaries of Heri es-Souani, and the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis nearby. Dedicating real time to Fes and Meknes is precisely why spending five days in Morocco offers such superior cultural value compared to shorter routes.

Overnight: Traditional Riad in Fes Medina | Meals Included: Breakfast

Day 3: Fes → Middle Atlas Cedar Forest → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Sahara Desert
+

Departing Fes early morning, Day 3 of your 5 day Morocco itinerary transitions into dramatic alpine landscapes. Our first stop is Ifrane, nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco,” followed by the ancient cedar forests of Azrou, where you can observe native Barbary macaque monkeys in their natural habitat.

After traversing the High Atlas pass of Tizi n’Talghamt and passing through Midelt, the scenery changes to lush palm groves along the sweeping Ziz Valley. By late afternoon, we reach Merzouga on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Mount your camel for a sunset trek across the golden dunes into a luxury camp in the Sahara desert. Spend the evening enjoying authentic Moroccan cuisine, gathering around the campfire to Berber drum music, and gazing up at an unpolluted canopy of stars.

Overnight: Sahara Luxury Desert Camp (Private Ensuite Tent) | Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner

Day 4: Sahara Sunrise → Rissani Market → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley
+

Wake up early for an unforgettable sunrise over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Following breakfast at camp, we return to Merzouga via camel or 4×4 vehicle and begin our trek westward toward the Dades Valley.

We stop at the historic trade market of Rissani before heading into the towering limestone cliffs of Todra Gorge, where rock walls reach over 300 meters high. Take a walking tour alongside the mountain river before continuing into the scenic Dades Gorge, famous for its dramatic “monkey fingers” rock formations and hairpin mountain passes.

Overnight: Authentic Kasbah Hotel in Dades Valley | Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner

Day 5: Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas → Marrakech
+

The final day of your 5 day Morocco tour travels along the historic “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Passing through the Rose Valley, we arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa due to its famous film studios.

Next, explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ksar Ait Ben Haddou the iconic mud-brick fortress featured in Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. After touring the kasbah, cross the sweeping High Atlas Mountains via the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m elevation).

    Merzouga desert tour
I loved this trip, Starting with wearing a turban and clothing for the camel ride was very peaceful and magical. For my first time on a camel, I have to say I’m fulfilled, Even the Camel leader offered to take pictures and videos which were brilliant. Then going to the mountains for breakfast was yummy. Best honey I’ve ever had, I even bought some to take home for the family, it Was a must lol. Then hiking through the mountains for a little walk and through the village was adventurous. I could go on… but I will say this is a must if you’re visiting Marrakech!trip.
